Free-agent forward Tim Thomas signed with the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday.
Contract details were not disclosed.
Thomas, 32, played 64 games last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls.
He averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 19.5 minutes a game.
Thomas is a 43.6 per cent shooter as a pro, having averaged 11.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 26.1 minutes a game in 806 NBA games (403 starts) since being drafted seventh overall by the New Jersey Nets in 1997.
He also has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.
